Bayer Leverkusen Face Three 'Finals' in Eight Days
Unbeaten Run on the Line Against Augsburg
Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has described the next eight days as a series of three "finals" for his team. The Bundesliga outfit will be looking to extend their unbeaten run when they host Augsburg on Saturday.
Match Preview
Leverkusen are currently fourth in the table, just one point behind leaders Bayern Munich. They have not lost a game since Alonso took charge in October, winning five and drawing one of their six matches in all competitions.
Augsburg, meanwhile, are 15th in the table and have only won one of their last five games. However, they will be buoyed by their recent 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Key Players
For Leverkusen, Florian Wirtz and Moussa Diaby will be the ones to watch. Wirtz is a highly-rated attacking midfielder, while Diaby is a pacey and skilful winger.
For Augsburg, Mergim Berisha and Ruben Vargas are the main threats. Berisha is a clinical finisher, while Vargas is a tricky and creative winger.
