DeMarcus Cousins Contributes 17 Points, 9 Rebounds, and 5 Assists

Los Angeles, CA - Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, 6:20 PM PST - In a thrilling Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, the Denver Nuggets edged out the Los Angeles Lakers 124-114 at the Crypto.com Arena.

Despite a historic performance from Lakers forward LeBron James, who became the first player in NBA history to reach 40,000 career points, the Nuggets' late-game surge proved decisive. Malik Monk led the Lakers with a career-high 41 points, while DeMarcus Cousins added 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.

The Nuggets were led by reigning MVP Nikola Jokic, who finished with 23 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists. Michael Porter Jr. also chipped in with 22 points for Denver.

The Lakers held a slim lead for most of the game, but the Nuggets took over in the final minutes. Jokic hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 2 minutes remaining, and the Nuggets forced a key turnover on the ensuing Lakers possession.

The victory gives the Nuggets a 2-1 lead in the series, with Game 4 set for Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
